Description
The corrosive nature of seawater has an impact on the materials used to carry it. Many metal alloys cannot withstand the damaging nature of the environment, necessitating the usage of specialized materials to provide increased resistance. Choosing the material for a component can help it last much longer. Naval Brass is a copper alloy made up of 59 percent copper, 40 percent zinc, and 1% tin, with a trace amount of lead. This alloy belongs to the Alpha Beta or Duplex Brasses subfamily of brasses. These Alpha Beta Brasses are stronger than non-Alpha Beta Brasses.
Naval Brass was created for use in seawater service applications. Naval brass is used in nautical hardware.
Key Features:
- Corrosion-resistant.
- The presence of lead in Naval Brass aids the metal's machinability.
- With roughly 35% Free Machining Brass, C464 Naval Brass Rod has decent machinability.
